about working nature

What I do

My name is Wendy Meyer. I'm a licensed landscape architect in Ohio, and have lived and studied all over--Texas, California, Virginia, Massachusetts, Germany.  I like digging into a place to understand its soil, vegetation, wildlife, history, and hydrology. How can we express the nature of a place and its inhabitants? How can we occupy a landscape without damaging it? The goal is to create an environment that is both restorative and energizing, for you and for nature.

Landscape architecture is not just flowers

What's one of the things I spend the most time on? Drainage! Because without it, your garden is doomed. We have to start with the basics of soil, water, light and air. And build from there.

Gardens are to Live In

It doesn't matter how pretty the plan is, if the ideas don't work for you. My job is to listen and learn, and fine tune the design until we both love it. (And your little dog too!)
